Choosing Photos

  • When choosing your photos try to choose photos that are horizontal rather than vertical as they make a better fit on your television screen. Vertical photos will appear on screen with black borders. This is not really a problem, horizontal just fill the entire screen and give a better look to the slideshow
  • When choosing digital photos, choose photos with a higher resolution, as this gives a far better result to your finished slide show.
  •  I may crop certain photos if I feel it will enhance the photo for viewing, but don't worry, all your original photos will remain intact.
  • When choosing photos, try to choose a variety of photos, close ups, groups, old and new (for life stories)

Organise your Photos

Please organise your photos into the order you would like them viewed.

  • For Print photos please number the back of the photo with pencil (don't use an ink pen as it may transfer onto other photos) or by placing a post-it note on the back of the photo. Number the photos beginning with No. 1, 2, 3 etc.
  • If sending digital photos, please rename each photo in numerical order, in the order you wish them to be viewed e.g. 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg (jpegs and bmp formats only please). Please transfer your renamed digital photos onto a memory stick, or CD.
  • When posting - please post photos, memory stick etc. in bubblewrap, between cardboard or in suitable packaging to prevent damage. It would be wise to use track and trace postage, as we will for their return.

Please note as a guide:

100 photos will make a 12 minute slideshow, 150 photos approximately 20 minute slideshow.

Music - approximately 1 song title for every 30 - 35 photos.
